19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of that year.
Success also signifies he has achieved 21 victories at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
He defended four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he clinched victory with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
